I'll have to think about the first question a bit longer, but I think I have the answer to question 2: What is your XML structure like? If it went something like ************************************************************** XML SNIP ************************************************************* <nothing> <line>line 1</line> <line>line 2</line> <line>line 3</line> </nothing> *************************************************************** then you could match templates: **************************************************************** XSL SNIP **************************************************************** <textarea name="a"><xsl:apply-templates match="line"/></textarea> <xsl:template match="line"> <P><xsl:value-of select="."/></P> </xsl:template> **************************************************************** That would seem the most logical way to do it. Hope that helps, Ben Robb cScape. > -----Original Message----- > From: terencek@xxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:terencek@xxxxxxxxxxxx] > Sent: 24 September 1999 01:11 > To: XSL-List@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx > Subject: 2 questions about textarea > > > I am using LotusXSL. > > 1. If you have an empty value within textarea as: <textarea > name="a"><xsl:value-of select="nothing"/></textarea> where > "nothing" is > empty. It will output <textarea name="a"/>. I want <textarea > name="a"></textarea>. Is there any way to work around this problem? > 2. if I have a text value with multiple string, how can I put <P/> for > each line break? For example, if the value for nothing multiple line > string as: > line 1 > line 2 > line 3 > and I want to put it in a textarea as: <textarea > name="a"><xsl:value-of > select="nothing"/></textarea>. How can I put the line break there. > > Thanks > > TK > > > XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list > XSL-List info and archive: http://www.mulberrytech.com/xsl/xsl-list
