Hi Jo,

it depends on the processor you use, examples here xt, saxon:

  xt   input.xml  stylesheet.xsl  output.xml  firstparam=paramone
  saxon -o output.xml  input.xml stylesheet.xsl  firstparam=paramone

Declare the parameter as a global parameter (toplevel) in the Stylesheet:

  <xsl:param name="firstparam" select="defaultvalue"/>
