It really does depend on what the static XML document looks like and what
range of things users can select to display from it.  If users are making
relatively simple requests, then it's usually fairly easy.  If they're
putting in full XPaths (for example), then it's usually very difficult.

Can you provide a bit more context so that it's possible to give a firmer
answer?
