If you have MSXML4 installed, IE should be running the XSLT engine in MSXML4. Here is one quote I found on Microsoft's site: "It can be installed in side-by-side, but the version-independent ProgIDs will redirect to the new beta." I think IE uses the version-independent ProgIDs. You can investigate this by searching the registry for Microsoft.XMLDOM and seeing which DLL it points to -- look in inprocserver32.
