Thanks for help, it works in Xalan and MSXML, I have some troubles in Saxon, but it does not matter. I have one more question however. The copy-of selects all namespaces in the input, including xsd namespace which I don't need in the output. Well it is not a problems that it is copied, but I would like to know if there is a way to copy just those namespaces I want from the source to the result. br, jakub David Carlisle <davidc@xxxxxxxxx>@lists.mulberrytech.com on 05/26/2002 02:48:27 AM Please respond to xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent by: owner-xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx cc: Subject: Re: [xsl] name space troubles > No. Actually the answer is yes, the system has some freedom on where to put namespace declarations but it can only move them up the result tree, it can't move them down. So to get the desired effect all you need to do is make sure the xsl:stylesheet node in the resulting tree has a namespace node for the cbamessage namespace. the easiest way to do that is not to use xsl:element to generate xsl:stylesheet (as that doesn't copy namespace nodes) but instead use a literal result element (using the namespace alias feature to generate elements in the xsl namespace) alternatively, using xsl:element you just need to copy suitable namespace nodes into the result as in <xsl:element name = "xsl:stylesheet"> <xsl:copy-of select="document('')/*/namespace::*"/> <xsl:attribute name = "version">1.0</xsl:attribute> However having said all that, this is still true: > It doesn't matter for the parser.
