Raju,

The following is how you do it..
make use of <xsl:param name = "whatevername">

The following code will help you
<?xml version="1.0"?>
<xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" 
xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform";>
<xsl:param name="commandparam"/>
<xsl:template match="/">
This came from the commandline parameter :<xsl:value-of 
select="$commandparam"/>
</xsl:template>
</xsl:stylesheet>

and pass the parameters through command line or in the Servlet through the 
API.. The XSL Receives it..and you can process it in which ever way you 
wanted to.
