got it ... thanks for your help David. -----Original Message----- From: David Carlisle [mailto:davidc@xxxxxxxxx] Sent: Wednesday, June 19, 2002 5:15 PM To: xsl-list@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Re: [xsl] Hello World but element (the only element, therefore also the doc ele) is not defined as a stylesheet element its an "a" element that has an xslt 1.0 namespace declaration within its context ... but it doesn't belong to the namespace nor is it an xslt stylesheet element. So is the xslt version attribute declaration still needed? Yes that's the second case (2.3) in the message of mine that you quoted. I called it "simplified syntax" teh spec calls it "literal result element as stylesheet". In this case you need an xsl:version attribute. (as opposed to the version attribute on xsl:stylesheet) David _____________________________________________________________________ This message has been checked for all known viruses by Star Internet delivered through the MessageLabs Virus Scanning Service.
