Hi David,
The syntax --
<xsl:template match ="elname">
<xsl:element name="name()">
_gives error with Xalan_. I tested with latest version
2.5.1 . The error reported is
"Illegal value: name() used for QNAME attribute: name"
But the syntax --
<xsl:template match ="elname">
<xsl:element name="{name()}">
works fine..
The syntax producing the error, is not allowed by the
XSLT grammer..
I believe the right syntax --
<xsl:template match ="elname">
<xsl:element name="{name()}">
would work with Saxon also..
Regards,
Mukul
