Is there a lot of interest in Sablotron and PHP on this list? It doesn't

magnificent!) website. Is that because PHP is considered off-topic, or
is Sablotron the under-powered poor cousin that no one wants to think
about, kind of the Microsoft Access of XSLT?

PHP as such is considered off-topic, yes. Along with Javascript, Java, Perl, Python, JSP, ASP, COM, CORBA, BASIC, Particle Physics and French cooking. Any or all of these may be fine things, but they're not XSL, which is what this list is about.

I don't believe anyone has judged Sablotron to be an under-powered poor cousin; at least they haven't said so here. One of XSL's virtues is that since it's fairly clear where the boundaries are between the language and its implementations, operating environments, applications and local extensions, we can pretty much stay on the XSL side of the line, helping each other out on XSL without having to muck with the details of one another's installations. (If you keep reading you'll see we occasionally stray across the line to help someone, but usually not without announcing we're doing so and hurrying back when we're done.)

PS I'm happy to present some of my discoveries, if they're not too
noobish. They're already saving me huge amounts of effort, and I'm happy
to spread the joy...

Anything on topic -- that is, having to do with XSL -- is welcome. If it's a product pitch, and therefore not about XSL but about the product, it'll be less welcome.

But be warned -- one of the things that distinguishes an *XSL* application (or XSLT or XPath application) is that it's portable to any conformant processing environment. If what you have to share isn't portable to other XSL platforms, it's a sign it's not on-topic. (Not that we don't want to hear about it -- just that we don't want to hear about it here.)

Cheers,
Wendell
