You can't write 

	<VALUE>-.&'()_!?*#%":+<>=?!></\@,~{}$[]^;</VALUE> 

In xml unless you encode certain chars:

Replace ' by &apos;
Replace & by &amp;
Replace " by &quot;
Replace < by &lt;

What do you mean by "when I try to display"? It displays fine in my mail 
reader, but somehow I feel that you're trying to do something else :-)
