so that is an i element in no-namespace, you want to change it to an i
element in the xhtml namespace, that means changing its name, so you
don't want xsl:copy-of.
<xsl:template match="text">
<xsl:apply-templates mode="no-namespace-to-xhtml"/>
</xsl:template>
<xsl:template match="*">
<xsl:element name="{name()}" namespace="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">
<xsl:apply-templates mode="no-namespace-to-xhtml"/>
</xsl:element>
</xsl:template>
Alternatively of course you could use xhtml in your source file.
