With the combination of the SideKick, XML (w/ schema validation), and XSLT plugin, combined with the abbreviations feature of the jEdit environment its tough to beat for writing stylesheets extremely fast and efficient. (e.g. 'tm' followed by the space bar (must explicity turn this on) gives you a well formed xsl:template match="" with the cursor between the quotes of match..)
