OK. I have it sussed. This is really, REALLY strange. I can get it to work if and only if I set up a variable like so: <xsl:variable name = "test" select="document('path-to-the-document')" I dont even have to use this variable in my call to the document (in my <xsl:choose when="....."></xsl:when> bit). But it has to be in the template somewhere or all hell breaks loose. has ANYONE ever come across such a bizzare fix to a really strange problem!? -- Tom David Kirkpatrick Virus Bulletin Web Developer, Virus Bulletin Tel: +44 1235 555139 Web: www.virusbtn.com
