If you are using 1.0 (which we should assume unless you say otherwise while XSLT 2 is still in draft form) there is no if expression in Xpath but you can do <xsl:value-of select="(OBJECT-SLOT|self::*[not(OBJECT-SLOT)]/DATA-SLOT)/@name"/> David ________________________________________________________________________ This e-mail has been scanned for all viruses by Star.
