Any other tool which can debug Cocoon ? Or at least XSL/XSLT & XML part of it ?
A common approach is to write the generator, serialize to XML and inspect this for a few test cases. If this looks ok, use this XML as input for running the XSLT from the command line.
The recipe for success is to increase the complexity step by step rather than throwing all together.
