I've got a problem with XSLT/XSL-FO and spaces:...
I try to create a text-file with FOP 0.20.5 from Apache....
Does anyone have an idea what's going wrong here? Thanks for your help!
The text renderer acts a bit counter-intuitive, because it rounds off the text positions to a coarse grid, defined by hard-coded values. You have to use a non-proportional font (like courier) and a specific line height and font-size in order to avoid unexpected empty lines and spaces. This has been repeatedly discussed on the fop-user list, try searching the archive. You should investigate transforming your XML directly into text rather than going through XSLFO and rendering.
