Subject: Re: [xsl] Office 2007, XSL-FO, and the Adobe "Save as PDF" (non)native-support... From: "M. David Peterson" <xmlhacker@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Mon, 5 Jun 2006 00:00:54 -0600 |
The real question is, are there good, reliable tools for XSL-FO output to PDF?
Yes, there are quite a lot. See http://www.xslfo.info --- Yes. http://xmlgraphics.apache.org/fop/ ---
One thing this reminds me of is to follow-up on the IKVM.NET list... A few weeks back on the IKVM.NET mailing list someone was attempting to tackle a few issues with getting FOP up and running on .NET via IKVM. Based on his last post to the list, it seems he found success.
I attempted the same thing about a year and a half back and ran into too many dependency walls in comparison to the time I had to spend getting it up and running. But even if it proves as the wrong tool for the Open Office XML to PDF conversion, It seems this would come in handy for quite a few folks to get FOP integrated and fine-tuned as an assembly available to the other 50% of us working over on the "Dark Side" ;) :D
With extended info in hand, I will follow-up this thread if/when I have useful information in regards to this (unless anyone in range of this list has also been successful in getting FOP running on .NET via IKVM.NET?)
