I understand. But with key() as nodelist this is less performant than David's solution, isn't it?
There are node-sets composed of nodes belonging to different documents (or even belonging to no document at all).
<xsl:key .../> only indexes the nodes of a single document (at a time) and the key() function returns a node-set of nodes, all belonging to a single document.
