Your original post showed xmlns=http://www.springframework.org/schema/beans which means your elements are in that namespace but your match pattern is match="beans/bean/property/@password"> which matches elements in no namespace, you want match="b:property/@password"> and <xsl:stylesheet version="1.0" xmlns:b="beans/bean/property/@password" xmlns:xsl="http://www.w3.org/1999/XSL/Transform"> to declare the namesace.
