Subject: [xsl] ANN: Technical White Paper describing use of XML, XSL and XSL FO and iText Libraries for Dynamic Forms From: "Kevin Brown" <kevin@xxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Thu, 17 Apr 2008 18:47:08 -0700 |
RenderX is pleased to provide a technical white paper with some XML and XSL samples which are part of a complete, generic framework for creating modifiable, flowing PDF forms based on XML content and standard XSL templates. Recently RenderX has seen many opportunities arise for creating "dynamic" forms. We mean dynamic because both the shape and the content of the form may depend on the actual content. This paper presents one method used for generating dynamic forms using RenderX's XEP, an XSL FO formatting engine, combined with the iText library for PDF manipulation to produce dynamic, fill-able, custom forms in a high-volume, multi-threaded application. The white paper is available at http://www.xportability.com/RenderX/RenderX-iText.htm or a PDF version if you prefer is at http://www.xportability.com/RenderX/RenderX-iText-Forms.pdf. This solution uses the C# port (itextsharp) of the iText Library for generating form fields in the document. The iText Library is Copyright (C) 1999-2008 by Bruno Lowagie and Paulo Soares.
