Alan, I think I explained that indent="yes" isn't going to give you this,
and I tried to explain why. So if you really need it to be like this, you
are going to have to create the newlines "by hand".

Hi Michael,

Yes, understood that comments will not be treated like elements by XSLT in XML output.

What interests me is the least inelegant way of doing this "by hand", as you mention.

I'll try a few things and report back.
