It's been fun, but it really has gotten off topic for XSL-List.

I think the OP has received a useful answer (and has probably lost
interest in this thread long ago), and we are now talking about
"XQuery as promoted by tool vendors". So, please take this off list
or elsewhere.

(You knew this was coming, didn't you? Were you testing to see if
I read the list on beautiful Sunday afternoons?)
