[xsl] "true" preceding axis

Subject: [xsl] "true" preceding axis

Hi,
preceding axis does not include ancestor descendants, so I am using
//<test>[. &lt;&lt; current()]
to get "true" precedings of the node

The code works, however I am wondering if there is a better way
