Well, I guess I should trust error messages so much.
Thanks for the hint.

Sadly it didn't help. I added the new char to the map but this only helped for
one file.
My guess is that it's yet another sign in those files and that I should
completely ignore that char the error message is indicating.

So I took a look at the suspicious chars at the positions that saxon was
telling me and added all of them to the map but I still get the error.

Any ideas ?

Character U+201E is not a with umlaut; it is low double quotation mark
(b).  I suspect your error log has mangled it somehow.
