xs:numeric - Wrong Re: [xsl] Type of a variable containing values of mixed types

Sorry since I haven't sent to XSL List for quite some time I just 
replied to an XSL List email to I received and forgot to change the 
subject line (and last you communicated with me directly say some 10 
years ago).

Anyway, I quoted the 3.0 spec as this is the first-in-time diagrammatic 
handle that I could find on xs:numeric.  I am actually working with the 
3.1 spec and my question still remains as to why xs:numeric is treated 
somehow differently to xs:anyAtomicType as to its "unionicity".
