Job title: XML IT Specialist (DATA MGMT)
DutiesThe incumbent will be responsible for analyzing and developing XML
publications, DTDs and Schemas; and providing day to day guidance to lower
graded Information Technology Specialists relating to XML usage in regards to
text processing operations.
QualificationsTo qualify for the IT Specialist (DATA MGMT), PU -2210-13, you
must meet the following:
Experience creating and modifying XML DTDs and Schemas, creating XML data to
enhance workflows is desirable as is experience implementing XML
transformations using XSLT (version 2.0 or 3.0).
You must be within commuting distance of Washington, DC (or relocate at your
own expense).
The selectee must be willing/able to work 3rd shift Monday-Friday with a tour
of duty from 11:30 pm to 8:00 am.
ResponsibilitiesAs an IT Specialist (DATA MGMT), your typical work assignments
may include the following:
Creates and modifies XML translates to enhance and simplify workflows.Develop
and perform XML training for employees.Develops procedures and maintains
standards for the utilization of new XML systems or subsystems.Coordinate
efforts of various technical disciplines to avoid conflicts and delays in
publication creation.Interacts with personnel to make modifications to
printing formats/style sheets.Recommends improvements and modifications to
graphic systems.Attends staff meetings, briefings, or conferences on behalf of
the Manager, and provides weekly and monthly status reports.Assist in the
development/modification of software applications for production.Perform other
miscellaneous duties as assigned.
