There was a problem when pasting. One correct expression is this:

for $nb in '&#160;'
      return
        (p[. eq $nb and not(following-sibling::*[position() le
10][not(self::p)])
            and following-sibling::*[position() le 10][. eq $nb]
          ])[1]
