That's a very big qualification: I think we only see the tip of the iceberg on the public internet, and most IT activity is conducted in private. Further, the bigger and longer-duration the project, the more likely it is to be "under the radar", and the less likely it is to be following the latest fashions.

The story we see at Saxonica, based on revenue from paying customers, is one of slow but steady year-on-year growth.
Encouraging words, Michael, for this dinosaur (I keep Goldfarb's SGML Handbook ready at hand; I have a printout of the DSSSL spec; I mourned the neglect of HyTime for decades). XML and associated processing technologies are for organizations that produce lots of long-lived, important documents, and it appeals to people with the mental capacity to appreciate and grapple with the problems associated with that endeavor.

We do of course see cases where the XSLT enthusiast who created an application a few years ago has now left and the new people are struggling to work out how to move it forward.
I resemble that remark. Been doing it for 30 years now. Except my first attempt, written in Cold Fusion, because XSLT wasn't available.
But we also see a steady stream of new customers.

That's good.
