As for the browser and native XSLT 1.0 support, seems like that "battle"
is lost (probably had to go this way since "HTML5" took over).

Use SaxonJS for XSLT 3 or even make use of any modern cross-compilation
tools like CheerpJ to run Saxon Java in the browser
