Subject: Publicizing the Sony Case and the DMCA From: "Robert P. Holley" <aa3805@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 22 May 2002 15:05:29 -0400 |
I found an interesting discussion on the ZDNet site on whether talking about using a felt marker to eliminate copy protection on the new Sony ersatz CD's violates the DMCA. Thus, all sites, including this one, that told others how to bypass the copyright protection on the Sony disks are in technical violation of the law and could be prosecuted. An interesting thought and probably legally correct. Bob (plus contact information) Robert P.
