About emailing a full-text article to students in a class: All students enrolled in a class are, by definition, part of the academic community. Their access to full-text content should be covered by the database license. Any self-respecting institution will provide off-campus access to subscription databases. So all that is required is for the faculty member to provide a durable link to the article- functionality which most database vendors support. The link could be served either directly by email, or as part of a courseware site or electronic reserves page. If the faculty member doesn't have this expertise, a librarian should be able to help set this up. I know this is a cop-out with regard to the technical copyright question, but it does solve the problem at hand. --Jeff <><><><><><><><><> Jeff Rosedale Assistant Library Director Manhattanville College 2900 Purchase St., Purchase, NY 10577 Phone 914-323-3206 ; Fax 914-694-8139
