I thought that some of you might be interested in this... UC's
copyright education website.

>>I am pleased to announce a new copyright resource for the University
>>of California community, the Copyright Education Web Site
>>(http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/copyright). The site is
>>intended to serve as an educational resource for the UC community;
>>to assemble in one place selected system-wide and campus information
>>and resources about academic copyright concerns. The concept for the
>>site was initiated by the UC Standing Committee on Copyright
>>(http://www.ucop.edu/copyright) in response to a perceived need for
>>continuous University-wide education on copyright.
>>
>>As both creators and users of copyrighted and public domain
>>materials, it is vital that members of the University of California
>>community understand and responsibly exercise the rights accorded
>>them under copyright law, particularly in light of new technologies
>>and legislation that challenge long-standing educational and library
>>exemptions and interpretations. The site is thus intended to provide
>>information and resources on copyright ownership, fair use, and the
>>public domain. While it is not intended to provide information about
>>University provisions to enforce copyright laws and policies (e.g.,
>>on file sharing) or copyright issues that are outside of the
>>academic realm, links to resources in these areas are provided on a
>>selective basis. We welcome your comments on the site. Please send
>>them to joanne.miller@xxxxxxxx or use the comments page on the web
>>site itself.
>>
>>Serendipitously, the UC Teaching and Learning with Technology Center
>>Webzine will on Tuesday, October 21, publish one article about
>>academic copyright issues and another about file sharing. These can
>>be accessed at http://www.uctltc.org.
>>
>>Please forward this announcement as appropriate.
