Subject: New Statement on Fair Use & Electronic Reserves From: "John Farquhar" <John.Farquhar@xxxxxxx> Date: Fri, 21 Nov 2003 08:50:12 -0800 |
Another thanks to Georgia Harper for this article on fair use (http://www.arl.org/access/eres/eres.shtml) Of particular interest to me is that the law protects from liability those libraries and educational institutions who are acting in good faith. Is this also true with regard to the TEACH Act? The lack of knowledge by my institution concerning how others are applying TEACH (or "the prevailing beliefs" on its interpretation) has led us into the most conservative of approaches for fear of getting sued. Thanks, jf ________________________________ John D.
