Subject: Electronic Reserves Policy From: "Valerie A. Lang" <langval@xxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 1 Sep 2004 15:39:05 -0400 |
We have a policy, instituted by our IT Dept., whereby faculty who post course material on electronic reserve are unable to view the material they post online. In addition, our Instructional Media Center administrators, who actually post the materials, are also prohibited from online access. Of course they can view what they are posting in hard copy format - but are not able to access the materials online, as the students can. I am wondering whether such a restrictive policy is necessary, in terms of copyright restrictions. I have found no such prohibitions at other institutions. How are colleges and universities handling this? Are your faculty & e-reserve administrators allowed to view what they post on reserve!? It would seem so...! Thank you. Valerie A.
