Subject: yet another query... From: John Ruttner <jruttner@xxxxxxxxx> Date: Wed, 06 Oct 2004 16:01:07 -0700 |
Hi digitalrati:
We use BlackBoard on our campus and by doing this are able to follow -
and make use of - the opportunities offered by the Teach Act. Recently
we've had an issue come up however when some of the media files did not
play properly in a course page. My question concerns the production of
a back-up CD that contains the media files in question that could be
handed out to the students in the class. Obviously the only issue is
the use of copyrighted material on the disk and the fact that it is
being given to students in a format that cab be reproduced. Will
providing a disclaimer/warning combined with asking students to give
back the disk at the end of the course suffice? Or is there some other
acceptable back-up/emergency format (short of removing all possible
copyrighted content) that we can give to students? Anyone have any
experience with this issue or ideas/musings about it?
Thanks all,
John
