How similar is this "backdoor" to the trick used to make Lynx carts without Atari encryption? It has been rumored that there was possibly a way to make Battlesphere (for the Atari Jaguar) without getting Atari encryption. (Anyone who knows details of this, please share them. I'm sure many people are curious about how Battlesphere would have been released if Hasbro hadn't found the key.) That would mean that there might be "backdoors" for these systems that Atari tried to protect that would essentially make them open platforms. Side note: The idea was that they would protect their consoles from a flood of bad software as had happened with the Atari 2600 back in the 80s. There was never a flood of software for any of these Atari other systems but there sure was some bad software for them. (Club Drive, Ruffin?) What a shame. matt -- Archives (includes files) at http://www.biglist.com/lists/stella/archives/ Unsub & more at http://www.biglist.com/lists/stella/
