One period of the processor's clock. Are you familiar with digital design
and the way microprocessors work? Microprocessors are driven by an
electrical signal that switches rapidly between high and low voltage
levels in periodic fashion. This is the clock signal. When you buy a
computer claiming to have a 450 MHz processor, the 450 MHz (megahertz)
moniker signifies the rate (450 million cycles per second) at which the
processor can be driven.
