Remember that it was Atari Corp. that resorted to lawsuits as a means of generating capital when the company was on its last legs with the Jaguar.

Hasbro has had to tighten its financial ship of late, if you haven't heard, and this might be a part of their strategy.

Let's face it, remade classics have been selling well. They sell, and they sell, and they sell, month after month. They don't follow the same sales curve as normal games. I am STILL seeing ads for Frogger on TV, this time promoting the Dreamcast port. This can generate a clone market all over again just as it did in the early 80s.

You'd think the Atari library would be enough, but Hasbro doesn't just own Atari properties, but Frogger (Konami/Sega), Q*Bert (Gottleib originally), and they recently cut a licensing deal with Namco to remake a lot of classic titles (Galaxian/Galaga, maybe Pac despite Pac-Man World, etc...).
