Sorry for the very late reply on this very old thread, but I'd been letting
these list messages pile up for a while and just now read it.
It's possible the sideways Breakout game you're thinking of was Off the
Wall. No, not the 2600 version... the arcade version! I only saw one once,
but it was by Atari Games, and the play was significantly different from the
2600 version. I think it had a two-player head-to-head option with each
player on opposite sides of the screen.
