Just as an aside to this thread, Owen Rubin's (Atari coinop game
designer/programmer, 1976-1984; also worked for Sente) website has been
redesigned and moved to http://orubin.vg-network.com. There are lots of
great stories on the limitation s of the 'old days' and how imagination was
used to overcome them. Being one of the first coinop game programmers, they
pretty much made up the process as they went along. This makes for great
reading, and Owen is one of my heroes, which is why I offered to redesign
and expand his site. Check it out!
