As long as it's properly labelled, it's okay. Commie Mutants does something like that.

BTW, regarding high scores, in the Vectrex scene there is a cheap hardware solution for high-score saves. I wonder whether that might work somehow with the 2600? It would probably be tricky to implement because of no write signal, but it would be cool to have EEPROM saves on 2600 carts! Losing your high score when you shut down the VCS almost makes the feature not worth the resources (at least not worth sacrificing other core features to deliver).
