How about doing it like the attached. three frames, first frame with the outer bars, second with the left two, third with the right two It gives you an 11-pixel fuji... and if you're using sprite positioning code to set the sprite place, would only be a matter of cycling the x-coordinate back and forth in synch with the frame. Depends how overboard you want to go, I guess. This one is less 'flickery' in my opinion, becase any of the bars is displayed two out of every 3 frames.
