There's been some speculation that Andrew Davies' tutorials at Atari Age could be turned into book form. Re: Thomas' comment that "the number of scanlines is not fixed at all unlike bitmapped graphics", one thing to keep in mind is that on some TVs, even if you had bitmapped graphics all of the screen might not be quite visible. (I think he was talking about something deeper than that, that TVs tolerate more variability w/o rolling...on the other hand, does anyone know if digital TVs have the same kind of toleration? I guess there must be some kind of analog->digital conversion that must be reasonably tolerant, since I assume atari games aren't the only cases of slightly 'dirty frames' out there...) -- KirkIsrael@xxxxxxxxxxxxx http://kisrael.com "It's the cracked ones who let all the light into the world." --writer from my Tufts writing class ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Archives (includes files) at http://www.biglist.com/lists/stella/archives/ Unsub & more at http://www.biglist.com/lists/stella/
