I think this one takes over the second port.  There's another joystick port 
saving device that's been in development for a while that does allow 
pass-thru.  Not sure if or when that one will ever become publicly available.

But yeah, when you're playing a two player game you're usually competing 
against each other.  For me at least, high score saving is more important 
when I'm playing alone.

Another thing I forgot to mention that I think would be cool is to hack 
high score support for some original 2600 games.  This would be pretty easy 
with some of the games that are already disassembled.
