[Virtools] Advanced Topic 10 --- Messages

Any one do this one?
There was no sample file for it.

I set out to work thru it anyway,
and got stuck: 

> Step 2: create a new message

> Create a local parameter in the schematic view.
> Change its type into "Message Name".
> Edit this local parameter:

> [picture of Edit parameter dialog box]

> Type a new string in the combo box (here, "newmessage").
> Now there is a new message that will always be listed in the combo box
> of edited local parameter of type "Message Name".

Well, "Message Name" doesn't seem to be an option in editing a local parameter.
What am I missing here?

There are also a couple of files:
  Debugging Tools.cmo
  Scene Management.cmo

which don't have any documentation.
