I had the same problem.
I also have a Dell Workstation 410 with a Matrox G400 Max Dualhead.
My problem was the 2 monitor setup.
Vitools had difficulties displaying the menu's at a resolution of 2560x1024.
Try lowering the resolution, that might work?

I have a serious problem with disappearing menu screens with my Creation 
software.

Popup screens such as 'material colour' or 'preferences' disappear as soon 
as I slide the cursor over the windows.

Any help here would be greatly appreciated...
