[Virtools] Ars Electronica Festival [Pixelspaces]

Hi,
for all who are interested in VR stuff this is a must when visiting the Ars
Elestronica Festival. The AEC Futurelab shows it's visions, concepts and
it's realised contributions to VR.
We are researching the fields of new controlling interfaces, content
development and presentation and the last but not least low-cost VR devices
as the PC-CAVE which is presented as well.
So don't miss the future, see you at the AEC festival !
bye Dipl. Ing. Robert Praxmarer [aka cubic]

The future of VR, discussed and presented during the FESTIVAL ARS
ELECTRONICA 2001 "TakeOver - Who is doing the art of tomorrow"

The Ars Electronica Futurelab invites to the symposion
--- PIXELSPACES ---

Fundamentally new ideas and application forms are necessary to save
conventional VR systems and concepts from the fate of the dinosaurs. How
does the future of VR look as far as its use in exhibitions and museums is
concerned? How and in what form are the game industry`s VR systems becoming
available for application development? Are game engines appropriating the
role of scientific cisualisation, or will VR systems of the future consist
of game consoles with hi-end displays?

What concepts and developments can be anticipated to emerge in VR?

PIXELSPACES is a sequenz of lectures and presentations dealing with ideas
and approaches to solutiuons to this questions.
