I finally found some time to put down some thoughts that came to mind when
I read the specification for the first time.

Since I'm not a member of the WG, I believe this list is the only place for
me to give feedback; apologies to the many members of this list who are not
working on the editing of the document ... you can ignore these posts.  

If the editors could give permission to contact them directly about
comments of this kind, I won't bother the rest of the list members (or is
posting here what we are expected to do?).

I've used the pattern above which has resulted in a number of posts rather
than only one.
