Subject: distinct values From: "Jon Smirl" <jonsmirl@xxxxxxxxxxxx> Date: Tue, 8 Jun 1999 11:05:27 -0400 |
I've been unable to come up with a way to select the distinct children of a
node.
Sample data:
<root>
<nodeA/>
<nodeA/>
<nodeB/>
<nodeB/>
<nodeA/>
<nodeC/>
<nodeA/>
<nodeD/>
<nodeD/>
</root>
I would like to find the first occurrence of each node type.
<nodeA/>
<nodeB/>
<nodeC/>
<nodeD/>
I've been trying to do this with the current Microsoft release without
success.
Is there a solution that works in the Microsoft implementation?
Is there a way to do this in the current draft without using variables?
