Whitespace nodes in the stylesheet are ignored, so this is equivalent to:

<xsl:attribute name="value">
	<xsl:value-of select="@name"/>
</xsl:attribute>

It is certainly best to avoid text nodes that include whitespace as well as
significant text, e.g. avoid

<xsl:attribute name="value">
	[<xsl:value-of select="@name"/>]
</xsl:attribute>

write instead:

<xsl:attribute name="value">[<xsl:value-of select="@name"/>]</xsl:attribute>

or:

<xsl:attribute name="value">
	<xsl:text/>[<xsl:value-of select="@name"/>]<xsl:text/>
</xsl:attribute>
